Grief has a way of silencing the world; of making even the simplest tasks heavy. As a family, in that silence, we choose to curate a sacred space for remembrance, for gratitude, for love and for strength.
Dervan lived a life that touched each of us in ways words could never fully express. The laughter, the kindness, the courage and the small, beautiful moments are not gone. In fact, they live within us and we will carry them like a poor woman carries hope; for her children and for a better tomorrow.
We remain forever changed by the loss of our sweet “Cam” but even in this season of unbearable loss, I pray we’ll continue to lean on each other as we wade through our difficult days.
May we find peace in knowing that he understood that we loved him; deeply and unconditionally. May his memory and legacy continue to be a beacon of hope and a reminder to disrupt the apple cart.
You are truly missed and I will spend every waking moment trying to honour your standard. I loved you, I love you forever.

Last Ode to Dervan
My brother, my friend. At first he seemed like a distant person too far up to speak to little old me, but he did and somehow became my mentor. Since then I have been in awe of just his sheer humility, relatabilty because he focused on helping both the physical and spiritual man. He had an uncanny ability to inspire people to come up to their highest selves.
I remember when I lost my older brother in 2014 and he went from being just mentor to becoming my adoptive older brother and sadly similar to him Dervan only had a short time so he had to move quickly with urgency and intention.
Dervan said to me once, Hakeem I want God to meet you in such a radical way and drape you up so that you develop a deeper passion for souls, that happened quite a while ago so I do understand a bit more better now his heart and drive because he was always about the Fathers work.
Dervan, he didn't have time. But he made time to be present and show up when it mattered, even sometimes for foolishness. I wanted so much to talk to him about time management and how I understood now how serisouly he took it and what it truly meant when he made himself available. I'll forever cherish the time and advice he gave me.
He touched a generation and we are left to carry on his legacy and I've always tried to be a little more like him so now I will continue to follow Christ with the same unwavering faith Dervan did.
To everyone impacted by Dervans life or were mentored by him we now have a responsibility to now in turn reach down and mentor the next generation because in the same way we needed a mentor they need us now.

Bishop Dervan poured out of himself into us as young men coming up in the ministry. He was the prototype of what excellence looked like in ministry, family and professionally. He always had a ready answer to any problem or challenge. I will miss his wisdom and guiding hand in making difficult decisions, especially as it relates to the Youth Ministry in PCMC Jamaica. To Carmeila and the family, we are here for you, just a call or text away. Long live DDMT. ~Bryton aka BK KingDeal

I am grateful that I got the chance to be apart of his life for the past 10 years, he was a friend, a mentor and motivator to me but most of all the best pastor I’ve came across. He was so selfless and he never made status a requirement to talk to you , he made me and my family feel welcomed and we always tried our best not to let him down …. So I am most grateful for the opportunity I’ve got with him. Farewell my bishop, the memories will definitely live on

Dervan was a dear friend. His memory will always be our hearts. He was the kind of friend that no matter how much time had gone since we last spoke it was like no time had gone by, we could pick right up. I will miss Dervs.
To Carmelia, Zayne, and the rest of the family, it is my hope that as time passes and you grow and get stronger, the heaviness of grief that you now feel will become lighter and easier to carry day by day. And the love, memories, his laughter and the sound of his voice remains as vivid as ever.

Bishop Dervan was an incredible man of God, one who love the work of God one who is not afraid to work, one who is willing to take the risk of all cost, i admire this brother so much his passion for young people the love that show and care that he gives, he is not afraid to tell you the truth whether you like it or not, he do it in a mannerly way.
What can you say to upset this brother absolutely nothing, i love his preaching, teaching and his style, i know that the youths surely missed him as much as i do.

I had the privilege of meeting Bishop Taylor when he came to the UK for our Convention.
He was a delight to watch and listen too, he set convention on fire.
In speaking with him, Dervan was humble and patient and numerous.
Many Sundays upon return from church, sis Dianne and I would tune in online to Bishop Taylor’s Service, observing beautiful baby dedications and all the goodness his church glorified God with.
It was a pleasure meeting Bishop a few years ago and watching his ministry and hopefully in the near future I will get to one of the International Youth Conventions.
May you rest in peace Bishop …. What a legacy of love you have left, especially among the young!!!!! Thank you.

Sir T,
I’m deeply saddened by the passing of someone who meant so much to me, my manager, mentor, counselor, and friend. He wasn’t just a leader, but a source of guidance, wisdom, and genuine care. His impact on my life and career will never be forgotten.
I’ll always remember the moments we shared playing Ludo, with him calling out, “Lock the gate!” and “Don’t mek him go in!” Bringing laughter and team spirit to every game. He had a special way of building camaraderie and always seemed to know the right people to bring together.
He will be deeply missed, but his kindness, leadership, and energy will live on through all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in knowing how many lives he touched.

Dervan gave me the opportunity of a lifetime, though I did not always perceive it as such. In the early stages of taking up his offer, I started to feel like the opportunity was an insurmountable mountain. I remember saying to Dervan, you tricked me. But nothing could be further from the truth. Dervan was the avenue through which I received a blessing in disguise and I am positive I'm not the only one. When I look at my friend's life, I see that Dervan was a conduit through which the LORD Jesus blessed countless lives.
Thank you Dervan for being an instrument of blessing to me and so many others.

Though I didn’t know Bishop for a long time, the short time I had to hear his gospel message and witness his ministry made a lasting impact on me. As the International Youth Coordinator, he had a special heart for young people — inspiring us to live for Christ, to serve with purpose, and to never give up on our faith.
His words carried power, wisdom, and love. He preached the gospel with passion and lived it every day. Even in the brief time I knew him, his dedication and kindness showed the true heart of a servant of God.
I thank God for his life and for the seeds he planted in so many of us. His message will continue to live on in our hearts.

A Tribute to the Late Bishop Taylor
The late Bishop Taylor was a distinguished leader of exceptional and exemplary standard. His life and ministry reflected unwavering dedication, profound wisdom, and a deep commitment to the advancement of God’s kingdom.
One of my most cherished memories of Bishop Taylor was when he visited the United Kingdom as a guest speaker at one of our conventions. During that time, I had the privilege of getting to know him more personally. While he carried a strong sense of purpose and seriousness in ministry, it was equally evident that he possessed a joyful spirit and a warm, engaging personality away from the pulpit.
Bishop Taylor was a true trailblazer, a visionary, and a history maker. His influence extended far beyond the walls of the church, touching countless lives and inspiring many to pursue excellence in service to God and humanity.
He will be greatly missed, yet his legacy will continue to live on through the lessons he imparted, the powerful messages he delivered, and the genuine love he showed to all—especially to us as young people. I remain profoundly grateful for his guidance, mentorship, and lasting impact on our lives.
May his memory continue to be a source of inspiration and strength to all who were blessed to know him.

May your teachings never leave my mind and my heart, my your son and your wife be blessed all the days of their lives and may every heart you touched be transformed for the glory of God. “The best is yet to come when I walk through heaven’s gates”, words I’ll miss hearing from the mouth of a humble servant but I’m grateful for the lessons and I know you indeed walked through heaven’s gates, Thank you sir Taylor for your impact on my life.

The passing of our beloved Bishop is a loss that words can hardly express. He was more than a leader he was a covering, a shepherd, a spiritual father, and a steady voice in times when many of us needed strength. His life reflected the heart of God, and the imprint he left on this ministry and on each of us is something time will never erase.
To lose a man of such grace, wisdom, and integrity shakes us deeply, yet we find comfort in knowing that he finished his assignment with honor. Heaven has welcomed a faithful servant, and although we mourn, we trust that he now rests in the presence of the One he served so faithfully.
May the Lord surround his family, the church, and every heart that loved him with supernatural peace. May His comfort be like a warm covering over every grieving soul. Bishop lived well, loved deeply, and led courageously and we will carry his teachings, his spirit, and his example with us forever.
With profound sympathy and love,
Zenobia – Zenspiration

On behalf of the IT fraternity, condolences to the Family and Friends of Bishop Dervan. We as a country give thanks to Bishop Dervan for his tremendous contribution to Jamaica's national development as a leading IT practitioner. Jamaica has lost a true Son of the soil. For the Kingdom of God, we have not lost, he has just changed his address to the streets of glory, where he is telling all the saints good morning, sitting with the elders... sit my friend and rest a while. Blessings.

Bishop Taylor, over the years I have watched you grown into this powerhouse. I was so proud of the moment you were installed as Reverend in the PCMC. When I was going through my darkest times you were one on the person's who kept me on track and sane. I thought all was lost but you reminded me who God is. I never knew you had your own issues going on and it would've been the end of your journey on this wretched land but God knows best. I thank you for the years of encouragements, the great friendship, and for always giving a listening ear to my cries and problems. Rest well my brother, until we meet again in heaven some sweet day. RIP to a real legend, Bishop DT.

All aspects of his life was a legacy, a lesson, a pattern to follow... while it's good to want to preach like him, and move up the rangs in the ministry as he did... the greatest aspect of his legacy, that I believe he would want us to highlight is that he sought first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and as a result all other things were added... he lived a full life, a successful life, he went thru all the bases, he achieved all the goals.... sleep on my brother... my friend... until that great getting up morning when we shall meet again........

Dear brother,
Gone too soon, but never forgotten. You were more than just a friend, you were a brother, a confidant, and a source of laughter and strength. Your time with us was far too short, yet your impact will last a lifetime. Though our hearts ache from your absence, we are grateful for the memories we shared, the moments, the jokes, and the love that will forever live in our hearts. Rest peacefully, my brother. Your light will never fade.
To Carmelia and Zane, God's got you and He promised never to leave you. Stay strong and know I continue to pray for you.

Grief is difficult and there is never a good time to lose a loved one. God in his infinite mercy will comfort the family and loved ones, especially Carmelia and Zane.
Words cannot fathom the pain. How many tears I have cried. How many times I asked God why. Why you. Why couldn't you heal him God. But you my friend, my brother, my rock, my shoulder that I could have counted on during the good times and in the tough times. You were compassionate, you were unfiltered, you were no nonsense, a true man of God a servant of God. A man whose faith has never waivered. I will miss you. Your creativity and your love. Sighz.
We were different and your support in every sphere of my life was immeasurable.
A beautiful rose plucked from us. Your memories will remain and I will treasure u forever.
Rest well until we meet again.

With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest condolences to both the Bishop’s family and our church family. We mourn the loss of a devoted shepherd, a man of great faith, wisdom, and love whose ministry touched countless lives.
Bishop Dervan Taylor served faithfully, leading with compassion and integrity. His legacy of prayer, service, and dedication to God’s people will continue to live on in our hearts and in the life of the church he so deeply loved.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, comfort his family and the entire congregation during this time of sorrow. Though we grieve, we also give thanks for the gift of his life and the spiritual seeds he has sown in all of us.
Rest in eternal peace, Bishop Taylor. Your work on earth is done, and your reward in heaven is sure.
With love and sympathy,
